Bucharest International Film Festival: Award-winning films to be screened in 'Panorama' section

The 21st edition of the Bucharest International Film Festival (BIFF), an international feature film competition, will take place from Friday until 28 September, with 'Panorama' section to present, for the first time in Romania, a series of award-winning films from prestigious international festivals.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES, the following films will be featured in the Panorama section:

* "Moi qui t'aimais" ("C'est si bon"), France, directed by Diane Kurys, presented at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival

The film will be screened on Saturday, 20 September at 19:00 at the Romanian Peasant Museum Cinema, and on Sunday, 21 September at 19:00 at Eforie Cinema.

* "Europolis", Bulgaria, Austria, directed by Kostadin Bonev

The film has received numerous awards and participated in several festivals: Best Bulgarian Documentary - Grand Prix Golden Rhyton 2009, Official Best of Fest Award - Seattle, 2010, Audience Award - London International Documentary Film Festival, 2011, Grand Prix for Best Documentary - Die Neue Heimatfilm Festival, Freistadt, Austria, 2010, and Best Documentary - International Filmmakers Festival, Kent, UK, 2011. Screening: Sunday, 21 September at 20:00 at the Romanian Peasant Museum Cinema.

* "The Magician," Romania, directed by Bogdan Muresanu

Winner of the European Film Award for Best Short Film with 'The Christmas Gift' and acclaimed for his distinct voice in contemporary Romanian cinema through works such as 'The New Year That Never Came,' Bogdan Muresanu returns with a story about illusion, modernity and human fragility in the face of progress. Screening: Sunday, 21 September at 20:00 at the Romanian Peasant Museum Cinema.

* "Romeria," Spain, Germany, directed by Carla Simón, presented at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival

Screenings: Wednesday, 24 September, at 20:30, and Saturday, 27 September, at 20:30, both at the Romanian Peasant Museum Cinema.

* "After the End," Argentina, directed by Pablo César

Screening scheduled for Wednesday, 24 September, at 20:00, at the CREART - Garden with Films cinema. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with director Pablo César and lead actress Luz Fernández de Castillo - a cultural entrepreneur, painter, writer and curator with a significant influence on the artistic scene in Buenos Aires, who plays herself in the film. 'After the End' also serves as a portrait of a woman who lived intensely through a century marked by ruptures, repression and cultural rebirths.

All these productions are being presented as national premieres.

* "Yes," Israel, France, Cyprus, Germany, directed by Nadav Lapid, presented in the Quinzaine des Cinéastes at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival

Screening: Sunday, 28 September, at 19:00, at the Romanian Peasant Museum Cinema. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with director Nadav Lapid and cinematographer Shai Goldman.

A cultural project funded by the Ministry of Culture, BIFF is organised by the Charta Foundation and the 'Grigore Vasiliu Birlic' Cultural Association, under the High Patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Radu of Romania, with the support of the Ministry of Culture - recognising the festival's contribution to promoting cinema and intercultural dialogue.

BIFF 2025 screenings will take place at the following venues: Romanian Peasant Museum Cinema, CREART - Garden with Films, Eforie Cinematheque and Union Cinema.
