BUCHAREST and the counties of Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Calarasi, and Ilfov will be under a Red heatwave alert on Tuesday, with temperatures rising to 41 degrees Celsius in these areas, according to a warning issued Monday by the National Meteorological Administration (ANM).

Thus, between July 22, 10:00 a.m. and July 23, 10:00 a.m., the heatwave will intensify in these regions, where there will be scorching heat and maximum temperatures between 40 and 41 degrees Celsius will be recorded. Thermal discomfort will be particularly pronounced, and the temperature-humidity index (THI) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.

Nighttime lows will generally range between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius, characterizing a tropical night.
