The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed the last session of this week lower and the value of transactions fell to 76.65 million RON (15.16 million euros), from 84.29 million RON (16.67 million euros) in the previous session.
The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BET, which includes the 20 most traded companies listed on the Regulated Market, depreciated by 0.35%, to the value of 17,497.04 points, and BET-Plus, which shows the evolution of the 43 most liquid shares on the Exchange, closed down by 0.34%.
The extended blue-chip index BET-XT, of the 25 most liquid stocks, recorded a decline of 0.37%, while the SIF index, BET-FI, "lost" 0.28% of its value.
The BET-BK index, the benchmark for investment fund performance, depreciated by 0.12%, and the BET-NG, which measures the performance of ten energy and utility companies, closed down by 0.49%.
The BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies on the AeRO market, closed with an appreciation of 0.97%.
The most liquid stocks were those of Digi Communications, with transactions of 10.81 million RON, followed by Hidroelectrica shares, with 10.10 million RON, and Transelectrica, with 9.69 million RON.
The best developments were recorded by the shares of Romcab (+10.81%), Green Tech International (+10.69%) and Carbochim (+10.41%).
On the other hand, the most significant decreases were recorded by Sinteza (-14.65%), Armatura (-14.12%) and Prefab (-10.32%).
The evolution of the Bucharest Stock Exchange was in line with that of European stock exchanges, which fell on Friday after U.S. President Donald Trump suggested that he would impose 50% customs duties on products imported from European Union countries starting June 1 and made it clear that trade negotiations between Washington and Brussels are at an impasse.
