Bucharest Stock Exchange shows mixed performance after first hour of trading

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) had a mixed opening on Thursday, with the turnover amounting to 13.88 million lei (approximately 2.73 million euros) after the first hour of trading.

The main index BET, which reflects the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, recorded a 1.11% increase, while the BET-Plus index, tracking the top 43 most liquid stocks on the BVB, was up 1.07%.

Meanwhile, the extended blue-chip index BET-XT, which includes the top 25 most liquid stocks, increased by 0.89%, and the BET-BK, the benchmark for investment fund returns, went up 0.36%.

The BET-FI index, which tracks financial investment companies (SIFs), depreciated 1.09%, while the BET-NG index, representing 10 companies in the energy and utilities sector, rose by 01.74%.

The BETAeRO index, covering 20 representative companies from the AeRO market (dedicated to SMEs), declined by 1.67%.

According to BVB data, the biggest gains were recorded by Armatura (+14.62%), Romcab (+5.30%) and Altur (+5.11%).

On the other hand, the biggest declines were seen in Bittnet Systems Bucuresti (-3.53%), Sinteza (-3.15%) and IAR Brasov (-3.14%).
