Bucharest stock market opens Wednesday's trading session lower

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened Wednesday's trading session with almost all indices going down, and 1.497 billion RON (300 ml euros) worth of transactions performed in the first 45 minutes after the start of trades.

Trades in bonds, most of which were issued by the Finance Ministry, amounted to 1.486 billion RON (298.8 million euros), agerpres reports.


The main BET index, which tracks the most liquid 20 companies, dropped 1.02 percent, and the BET-Plus index which shows the evolution of the top liquid 43 shares was also down 0.97 percent.

The extended blue-chip index BET-XT of the top-liquid 25 issuers fell 0.89 percent, while the return benchmark index for stock investment funds BET-BK dipped 0.72 percent.

The BET-FI index of the five financial investment companies picked up 0.01 percent, while the sectoral energy and related utilities index BET-NG was down 1.09 percent.

The BET AeRO index of the 20 representative companies on the AeRO market was 0.45 percent down.

According to BVB, the issuers to see the largest price rise were the Napoca Construction Company (+5.22 percent), Dafora (+4.17 percent), and Rompetrol Rafinare (+2.48 percent).

Conversely, the issuers on a significant downward trend were Electrica (-2.96 percent), Turbomecanica (-1.48 percent), and Romgaz (-1.44 percent).
