The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened Monday's trading session lower across most indices, with a turnover of 8.9 million lei (approximately 1.7 million euros) recorded in the first 45 minutes of trading.
The main index, BET, which tracks the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, registered a decline of 0.36%, while the BET-Plus index, which reflects the performance of the 43 most liquid stocks on the BVB, was down 0.37%.
The extended blue-chip index BET-XT, which includes the top 25 most traded stocks, fell 0.35%, and the BET-BK, the benchmark index for investment funds, dropped 0.34%.
Meanwhile, the BET-FI index of Financial Investment Companies (SIFs) posted a slight increase of 0.11%, whereas the BET-NG index, which tracks the top 10 companies in the energy and utilities sector, was down 0.34%.
The BET AeRO index, which includes 20 representative companies listed on the AeRO market (dedicated to SMEs), recorded a sharp decline of 1.90%.
According to BVB data, the top gainers were: Armatura (+14.44%), Compa (+2.28%), Oil Terminal (+1.78%).
On the other hand, the biggest decliners were: Bermas (-3.79%), Condmag (-3.45%), Romcarbon (-1.96%).
