All municipal companies will have to implement, by the end of the day, the General Council decision based on which the salaries of directors and the allowances of members of the boards of directors are capped, declared the interim mayor of the Capital, Stelian Bujduveanu.
Bujduveanu stated that Monday marks 45 days since the approval of the respective decision by the CGMB.
"All municipal companies have the obligation to implement the Council's decision by the end of the day. Otherwise, they risk sanctions," said the mayor general, in a statement to the press.
He mentioned that during this week he will make public the information regarding the way in which the General Council's decision was implemented.
"I will have a discussion with each director of the companies. I think there is a lot to be done at the level of municipal companies. 45 days ago we made a decision, considering it common sense to reduce all salaries at the level of municipal companies - some unspeakable salaries - and the compensation of the members of the board of directors. Today we are reporting, we are collecting all the data and making it public this week, to see if that decision of the General Council has been fulfilled. If not, the next day, the Control Body... We take administrative measures and do it by force," he said.
Bujduveanu stated that it is not possible for a director to receive a salary of 40,000 lei, given the conditions in which the Government is adopting measures to reduce the budget deficit.
"I think they understood that in the current situation, no one can afford to make fun of Romanians and have salaries of 40,000 RON, in the context in which we see what measures the Government is forced to take to financially recover the country," Bujduveanu said.
On June 25, the CGMB approved the decision based on which the salaries of directors in municipal companies will be capped at the level of the deputy mayor of the capital.
At the same time, the remuneration of non-executive members of the board of directors will consist of a fixed monthly allowance, which may not exceed the average of the last 12 months of the average gross monthly salary for the activity carried out according to the main object of activity registered by the company.
The remuneration of the executive members of the board of directors or general managers will consist of a fixed monthly allowance and a variable one. The fixed monthly allowance will not exceed the monthly level of the deputy mayor of the capital.
