BVB stocks close Friday's trading session lower as main index declines 2.57pct

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) stocks closed down over 2% on Friday on trades of RON 146.42 million (EUR 29.41 million), as more Fidelis government bonds entered trade.

The most traded stocks were Banca Transilvania, with RON 57.29 million in trades, followed by OMV Petrom, which generated trades worth RON 12.44 million, and BRD - Groupe Societe Generale, with trades of RON 9.73 million.

The main BET index reflecting the developments in the 20 most liquid stocks declined 2.57% to 16,884.29 points, and the BET-Plus index reflecting the developments in the 43 most liquid BVB stocks went down 2.53%.

The extended blue-chip BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid stocks fell by 2.50%, and the BET-BK index, the Bucharest exchange trading benchmark index, was down 3.35%.

The BET-FI index of financial intermediation stocks decreased by 2.28%, while BET-NG, the index of 10 energy and utilities stocks, decreased by 2.29%.

The BET AeRO index of 20 AeRO leading companies was down 3.07%.

According to BVB, the top three risers were UAMT (+14.16%), Comelf (+8.14%) and Prefab (+5.63%).

On the other hand, the top three fallers were Promateris (-11.54%), Societatea Energetica Electrica (-11.11%) and Societatea de Constructii Napoca (-9.74%).

European stock markets tumbled on Thursday morning to their lowest level in two months, after a new round of aggressive U.S. tariffs were unveiled by President Donald Trump, which escalated the global trade war and increased fears of an economic slowdown.
