The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) for the election of the President of Romania in 2024 was established on Friday.
The Central Electoral Bureau includes five judges of the High Court of Cassation and Justice: Ioana Bogdan, president of the BEC, Mihai-Andrei Negoescu-Gandac, deputy president of the BEC, Valentina Vrabie, Rodica Zaharia, Doina Visan, as well as the president and vice-presidents of the Permanent Electoral Authority, Toni Grebla, respectively Zsombor Vajda and Cosmin-Gabriel Popp.
Also, the representatives of the parliamentary political parties are part of the BEC: Eliza Ene-Corbeanu (Social Democratic Party), Cristian Ene (National Liberal Party), Oana Anghel (Save Romania Union Party), Laurentiu Plaesu (Romanian Union Alliance Party) and Maria Kolumban (Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania).
The presidential elections are scheduled for November 24 - the first round and December 8 - the second round.
