The importance of Sunday's parliamentary election in the Republic of Moldova amidst a united and strong Europe, was highlighted on Thursday in a meeting of the Romanian Senate Chairman, Mircea Abrudean, and Portugal's ambassador in Bucharest Paulo Cunha Alves.
"Our bilateral relations are very important and, as chairman of the Romanian-Portuguese Parliamentary Friendship Group, I will take all the necessary steps to improve its activity. Discussions also focused on Sunday's election in the Republic of Moldova and its importance amidst a united and strong Europe," Abrudean wrote in a social media post on Thursday.
Abrudean also welcomed Italy's ambassador in Bucharest Alfredo Maria Durante Mangoni, on a farewell visit.
"An excellent tenure, Italy is a strategic partner, a strong ally in the EU and NATO, but also a close friend of Romania," Abrudean added.
