Chief prosecutor of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) Laura Codruta Kovesi has sent a letter to Parliament's inquiry committee investigating into the 2009 presidential election in which she say she will not show up for hearings scheduled for today.
Kovesi says in her three-page letter that she has learned about the objectives of the committee, as they are included in a decision passed by Parliament concerning the establishment of the inquiry committee.
"Given that I have no knowledge of and I do not own any evidence of the causes and circumstances of the events under inquiry by the committee, I will not show up on July 10, 11:30hrs at the meeting of the inquiry committee," reads the letter.
