Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu conveyed on Saturday that the release of six Israeli hostages in Gaza today, including one who has dual Israeli-Romanian citizenship, is a "moment of great joy", Agerpres reports.
"Moment of great joy today for the release of six Israeli hostages in Gaza, including a citizen with dual Israeli-Romanian citizenship. We commend the involvement of the Qatari, Egyptian and US mediators and the commitment of all parties to ensure the continued implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the release of the hostages, which must also adequately address the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Romania strongly supports the timely release of all remaining hostages and will continue to stand in solidarity with their families and the people of Israel!," is the message posted by Prime Minister Ciolacu on social networks.
The Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on Saturday morning handed over two more Israeli hostages to the Red Cross in Gaza and the ceremony was broadcast live, dpa reports.
