PLUS Chairman Dacian Ciolos on Tuesday stated in Focsani that the results obtained by Romania since taking over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union are mainly due to the employees of the ministries, and not to the Romanian Government.
"The results recorded so far by the Romanian presidency of the Council of EU are mainly due to the work of the employees in the ministries, who are very capable, and also to the team at the Permanent Representation of Romania at the EU. They had the best results, not the ministries or the Government," Dacian Ciolos told a press conference.
According to him, Romania had no political benefit from holding the presidency of the Council of the EU.
"It would have been better if we had a legitimate and credible government to take advantage of this opportunity. But we have already missed it. Romania hasn't had any political benefit from this, on the contrary, its image got worse, because of the current government's behaviour," said Ciolos.
Dacian Ciolos on Tuesday paid a short visit to Focsani to meet PLUS supporters and to discuss with the citizens on the streets.
