Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca said on Wednesday when asked why Senate President Florin Citu was not part of the delegation that visited Ukraine, that there were "two separately planned visits".

"There were two visits planned separately. It is about the number of members who could be part of the delegation, certainly, being conditioned by the protection and security measures in Kyiv and in the localities where we were," Ciuca said in a press conference at Victoria Palace.

He said he had received an invitation to visit Ukraine from his Ukrainian counterpart.

"It was established through diplomatic channels through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The first elements were established about two weeks ago," the prime minister said.

Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca paid a working visit to Ukraine in Kyiv on Tuesday, during which he was accompanied by the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu.
