The President of the Senate, Nicolae Ciuca, highlighted, on Tuesday, in Prague, during the second Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea International Platform, that Romania has supported and will continue to support Ukraine, whose peace was violated by Russia.

"Since the first day of the Russian invasion, our country supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine, facilitated grain exports and hosted refugees displaced by the war (...) We continue to support the future of Ukraine in the European and Euro-Atlantic structures, this being for the neighboring country, but also for the Republic of Moldova and Georgia - the only long-term solution for freedom, democracy and well-being," Nicolae Ciuca wrote on Facebook.

He appreciated the strengthening of NATO's presence on the Eastern Flank and the increasing importance of the Black Sea region in the strategies of the great powers.

"I participated in the second Parliamentary Summit of the International Platform 'Crimea', held in Prague, where a joint declaration of support for Ukraine and supporting the country in the fight for the liberation of its entire territory from Russian occupation was adopted. Wide international presence and the official positions expressed at this summit are an indicator of the continuity of the unity of the free world in the face of Moscow's aggression. In my address, I appreciated the strengthening of NATO's presence on the Eastern Flank and the growing importance of the Black Sea region in the strategies of the great powers. I showed the essential role that Romania has it as a pillar of security in this area, being one of the countries that supports Ukraine on multiple levels," Nicolae Ciuca pointed out.

On Monday, the President of the Senate participated, in Prague, in the unveiling ceremony of the Memorial Plaque dedicated to the support of the Romanian people for the declaration of Czechoslovakia's independence and laid a wreath at the triptych in Dobroutov, in the Czech Republic, erected in honor of the Romanian soldiers who they gave their lives for the liberation of Czechoslovakia in the last part of the Second World War.
