The mayoral mandate of District 6 will be temporarily taken over by Vice-Mayor Paul Moldovan, Ciprian Ciucu, elected General Mayor of the Capital, announced on Monday, adding that in the coming period he needs to get fully up to speed with everything happening at the Bucharest Municipality.
"Once I sign my resignation, because I assume this is the way to vacate the position in order to take the oath as General Mayor, Paul Moldovan will automatically, under the Administrative Code, become the interim mayor of District 6. (...) During this period I am on the phone with (...) Stelian Bujduveanu, because for me there will be a period of roughly a month and a half to two months in which I will need to get up to speed with everything happening in the City Hall of Bucharest. Thus, it will be a period in which I will gather a lot of information, a period in which I will refine my vision, (...) I will need to outline my governance programme," Ciucu said.
He also stated that he will present an annual assessment report of his work during his mandate.
In his view, reforms regarding the delivery of public services will probably also be necessary.
