The leader of the Parliamentary Group of National Minorities in the Chamber of Deputies, Varujan Pambuccian, said that there is now a balanced formula for governance which must implement a governing programme, with the hope that necessary adjustments will be made in a manner that is 'as fair, balanced and painless as possible,' and that economic and social development will remain a constant of the new executive.
'The Parliamentary Group of National Minorities also signed the coalition agreement this morning. Both the agreement and the governing programme were thoroughly negotiated, with ups and downs, as is to be expected. Fortunately, we now have a formula that satisfies everyone to the same degree - and, just as importantly, does not displease everyone to the same degree. That is a good sign, because it means we have reached a balanced formula. From this point forward, the provisions outlined in the agreement will need to be discussed, thought through, and implemented, while hoping for a few things: that Romania's Euro-Atlantic course - and this is no longer just a hope, but a certainty - will be maintained; that necessary adjustments will be made in the most fair, balanced and painless way possible; and that economic and social development will remain a key objective of the new government,' said Varujan Pambuccian on Monday, after signing the political agreement.
The leaders of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), the National Liberal Party (PNL), the Save Romania Union (USR), the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) and the group of national minorities signed the political agreement of the governing coalition on Monday.
