The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) on Sunday issued a Code Orange warning for rain and wind for five counties in the central and north-west of the country, respectively a Code Yellow warning for bad weather in the 13 counties in the areas of Moldova, Muntenia and Oltenia, valid from Monday morning.
According to meteorologists, in the period October 23, 10:00 am to October 24, 11:00 pm, there will be in effect a Code Yellow for heavy rainfall and strong wind in the mountains. From Monday morning, October 23, the rainfall area will extend from the west to most of the country.
In the mentioned interval, in Oltenia, most of Muntenia (including in the area of ??Bucharest), locally in Transylvania, as well as in mountain areas water quantities exceeding 20-30 liters / sqm locally and isolated 40 liters / sqm will be recorded. In the Southern Carpathians and the Carpathian Mountains, there will rains of over 30 to 50 liters / sqm and over 60 liters / sqm. The wind speed will be 50-55 km per hour, and in the mountains, especially in the high hills of the Southern Carpathians, there will be gusts of over 70-80 km per hour.
Temperatures will decrease from day to day, so that by mid-week weather will become cold throughout the country. In the mountains, at high altitudes, there will be mixed precipitations.
According to the ANM, in the period October 23, noon, to October 24, 6:00 pm, there will be a Code Orange warning for rainy and cold weather. The hilly and mountainous areas in the counties of Mehedinti, Gorj, Valcea, Arges and Dambovita will be affected.
