The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued a Code Yellow warning for significant rainfall for five counties, valid until Friday afternoon, and a weather advisory for heavy rainfall and wind intensification for the entire country, valid until Saturday evening.
According to meteorologists, from Wednesday at 12:00 PM until Friday at 12:00 PM, in the southern part of Banat, the western and northern parts of Oltenia, and the west of the Southern Carpathians, there will be showers, and especially due to accumulation, rainfall amounts will range from 40 to 60 litres per square metre. The counties of Vâalcea, Gorj, Mehedinti and Caras-Severin will be under a Code Yellow warning in full, while Hunedoara County will be partially affected.
According to the weather advisory, valid from Wednesday at 10:00 AM until Saturday at 6:00 PM, there will be periods of rain in all regions. The rainfall will mainly be in the form of showers, and especially due to accumulation, rainfall amounts will be between 15 to 25 litres per square metre, with amounts exceeding 50 to 70 litres per square metre in the south-west of the country and the Southern Carpathians.
Starting Thursday afternoon (March 27), the wind will intensify in the southern half of the country, with speeds generally ranging from 40 to 60 km/h, and on mountain peaks, gusts will exceed 70-80 km/h.
