Conference 'Socketed Energy' to discuss interconnection of electricity, gas grids in Europe

The 13th edition of the conference "Energia in priza" (Socketed Energy,) organised by the newspaper Bursa, is taking place in Bucharest today to discuss the interconnection of electricity and natural gas grids in Europe and the alternative to Russian resources.

Also featuring on the agenda are mergers and acquisitions issues in the gas and electricity markets in a changing geopolitical context.

Other subjects to be addressed regard the plants that produce energy continuously vs. the installed capacities in solar and wind energy (risks and opportunities); Energy and gas prices after market liberalisation: trends and what consumers have to do; large energy investments, their stages and the consequences of delays.

The event will discuss the energy independence of prosumers in balancing the system and the energy independence of the state: similarities and differences; sources of funding for energy projects; funding energy investment projects through capital market mechanisms (IPOs, bonds) and listing on the stock exchange additional packages of shares in state-owned energy companies.

The conference is expected to be attended by, among others, Pavel-Casian Nitulescu, senior officer at the Ministry of Energy; Antal Istvan-Lorant, chairman of the Committee on Energy, Energy Infrastructure and Mineral Resources of the Romanian Senate; Bende Sandor, chairman of the Committee on Industries and Services of the Chamber of Deputies; Sebastian Burduja, adviser to the prime minister; George Sergiu Niculescu, chairman of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE); Silvia Vlasceanu, executive director of HENRO; Laurentiu Urluescu, chairman of the Association of Energy Suppliers in Romania; Liviu Gavrila - deputy chairman of RWEA, and Septimiu Stoica, chairman of the General Shareholders' Meeting of the Romanian Commodity Exchange.
