Police and gendarmes have applied 4,799 fines, totaling 859,230 lei, in the past 24 hours, as a result of violations of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures meant to prevent and combat effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Friday, according to AGERPRES.
The relevant structures of the Police on Thursday opened five criminal cases for the crime of hampering efforts to fight a disease, which is punished by art. 352 of the Criminal Code, states GCS.
