The Ministry of Health specifies that the vaccines produced by Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca-Oxford can be administered to people who are suffering from diabetes, regardless of the type of diabetes, according to AGERPRES.
According to the National Vaccination Strategy, these patients can be vaccinated during Stage II.
"Vaccination against COVID-19 is very important for diabetes patients, due to their increased risk of developing a more severe form of the illness. Patients with diabetes were included in the clinical studies of the three companies, without any safety issues being recorded," the Ministry of Health highlights, in a Facebook post.
The quoted source shows that in the first 48 hours since vaccination, it is recommended that diabetes patients to carefully monitor their blood sugar and to adequately hydrate.
