Culture and National Identity Minister Valer-Daniel Breaz welcomed on Wednesday British Council (BC) Director Nigel Bellingham, occasion on which the two parties expressed their availability to stimulate contemporary creation through programmes such as the Creative Europe.
"Within the discussion, both sides voiced their interest in providing support for the projects and programmes meant to encourage communities to get involved in educating and promoting the culture of Romania and the UK. Moreover, the dialogue was aimed at the availability of the collaboration between the Romanian Culture and National Identity Ministry and the British Council for endorsing cultural diversity, stimulating creativity and contemporary creation through programmes such as the Creative Europe," a Culture and National Identity Ministry (MCIN) release published on Wednesday on the institution website informs.
On Tuesday Minister Valer-Daniel Breaz carried out a bilateral meeting at the MCIN headquarters with France's Ambassador to Romania Michele Ramis, which was aimed at drawing up a common strategy involving Romanian-French cultural projects, but also the promotion of francophonie and of the younger generation of cultural content creators.
"Thus, the two officials reiterate the importance of cooperating in view of a better unfolding of the 2019 Romanian-France Cultural Season, in respect to the events that will take place in Romania between 18 April and 14 July 2019. Moreover, the meeting took place in the context in which Culture and National Identity Minister Valer-Daniel Breaz will meet his French counterpart Franck Riester on 16 April, on the occasion of the informal meeting of culture ministers, which is scheduled to take place at the Palace of Parliament," the MCIN release informs.
According to the quoted source, on Tuesday also, the Culture Minister welcomed Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Romania Andrei Grinkevich, within which the two officials signed the Collaboration Programme between Romania's MCIN and the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Belarus. The document established the premises of a cultural collaboration between the two states, being mainly aimed at bilaterally promoting the activities and the cultural emblematic personalities of Romania and Belarus.
