The Minister of Culture, Demeter Andras Istvan, says that on Romania's National Day, he wishes the entire cultural sector of Romania the strength and inspiration of a new union - in vision and effort for the future.
"On December 1, the Great Union Day, I wish the entire cultural sector of Romania the strength and inspiration of a new union - in vision and effort for the future. Culture is the root of our identity, and its transformation for the better depends on our courage to collaborate, to innovate and to believe in the value we show the world. Together we can build a stronger, more vibrant and fully worthy cultural future for Romania," the minister stated, according to a statement sent to AGERPRES.
He sees in Romania a space of memory, creativity and diversity that defines us, a place where every spoken language, every ballad or poem, every dance or costume passed down from generation to generation, every church bell, fresco, fortress, castle or archaeological site remind us that we are, in a profound way, more similar than different.
"Culture is the very foundation on which a nation's identity is built. It is the silent force that sustains us in moments of uncertainty, brings us together when everything seems fragmented and always reminds us of the values we believe in. Today we celebrate a Romania that has the power to find itself, to create, to cooperate. A Romania that gathers around essential principles: dignity, memory, solidarity and courage. I convey, on this occasion, my appreciation and gratitude to all those who, through #art, #heritage, #research, #education or #craft, contribute to shaping a strong, open and relevant cultural Romania. Happy birthday to those who build this country through #culture. Happy birthday to Romanian citizens in the country and everywhere! Happy birthday, Romania!", said Minister Demeter Andras Istvan.
