President Klaus Iohannis signed on Monday the decree on the accreditation of Daniela Mihaela Camarasan as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Croatia, with residence in Zagreb.

In February, the head of state accepted four proposals from the Foreign Ministry for appointments as ambassadors, including Daniela Mihaela Camarasan for Croatia.

Daniela Mihaela Camarasan is a representative with special duties, with the rank of general director, within the Headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the period 2019-2023, she served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, she was the Romanian ambassador to the Republic of Estonia (2016-2019). She also held the position of cabinet director of the minister of Foreign Affairs (2012-2016), also working in the cabinet of the secretary of State for Strategic Affairs, for European Affairs, respectively, for Global Affairs (2009-2012). In the Foreign Service, she also worked as a diplomat in the Romanian embassy in the Republic of Lithuania. She speaks English and French.
