Europe must diversify its supply chains and develop defensive trade instruments to protect companies, said the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mihai Daraban, during a European event dedicated to direct dialogue between entrepreneurs and European Union decision-makers.
"Europe must diversify its supply chains and develop defensive trade instruments that protect our companies, while maintaining a global trading system based on rules and predictability. Regarding the labor market, I emphasized the vital importance of partnerships between the business environment, the education system and public authorities. I recommended strengthening the "European Skills Union" through easier access to funding for vocational training and the introduction of dual rapid retraining programs, essential for our SMEs in adopting green and digital technologies. Our participation in the European Parliament of Enterprises demonstrates CCIR's commitment to representing the real interests of the Romanian business environment," Mihai Daraban said, according to a CCIR press release.
The National Chamber participated with a representative delegation of the Romanian business environment at the 7th edition of the European Parliament of Enterprises (EPE 2025), an event organized by Eurochambres in the hemicycle of the European Parliament in Brussels.
The event brought together approximately 900 entrepreneurs and representatives of chambers of commerce from all member states, who debated and voted on proposals for European initiatives on major economic issues.
The results of the votes expressed by European entrepreneurs will be transmitted by Eurochambres to the representatives of the European institutions to be reflected in future legislative projects.
