December 1 is the union moment within the same borders of all territories inhabited by Romanians, a moment possible through the sacrifice and blood of the Romanian soldiers, on Friday said the National Defence Minister Mihai Fifor, adding that on this very day, "we should recall all of those who fell on the battlefields and defended the interests of Romania and the Romanian people."
"Today, we remember the ideals that have made it possible the Great Union of 1918 and that testify to the young generations, as they are a landmark to us as a nation. Romania's National Day, 1 December signifies to each of us the moment of the union within the same borders of all of the territories inhabited by Romanians. Greater Romania was possible through the sacrifice and blood of the Romanian soldiers. They answered without hesitation, by writing pages of history in the battles of the First World War. During all of the great battles of our Army, the long of the time, in the Independence War, in the two world wars, and in our days, too, in the missions unfolded in the operations theatres, in Afghanistan, Iraq or Western Balkans the Romanian troops have fully done their duty. It is a must that today we remember all of those who have fallen on the battlefields and defended our interests and the Romnaian people," Minister Mihai Fifor said in his message on the National Day posted on his Facebook page.
