Defence Minister Ionut Mosteanu on Thursday met at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defence, representatives of the management of some associations for military personnel in reserve and retirement, and with representatives of some trade union confederations active in defence industry, with military pensions being one matter to discuss.
Also attending the meeting was Chief of the Defence GheorghitaVlad, senior official for the relationship with Parliament and the quality of life of the personnel Eduard Bachide, as well as the heads of some central organisations of the Ministry of National Defence (MApN).
According to MApN, discussions mainly concerned military pensions, legislation in the field, as well as the establishment of regular working groups in which the main problems faced by the military reservists should be discussed in detail.
Mosteanu reiterated the respect of the MApN for the associations of the military personnel in reserve and retirement, as well as for the trade union confederations in the defence industry and expressed its openness to dialogue in order to identify feasible solutions to the requests of the military reservists.
There are 55 registered NGOs operating in areas under the authority of the MApN. Annually, an activity plan is drawn up regarding the coordination of MApN's relationship with the associations, foundations and federations that carry out their activity in the areas under the ministry's authority.
