The Gendarmerie of the Capital reported, on Saturday, that the demonstrators gathered in Victoriei Square at the protest organized by the leader of AUR, George Simon, and supported by Calin Georgescu, threw water bottles and plastic crates, used for the transport of bakery products, at the police.

According to the quoted source, during these incidents, the gendarmes did not use the force or the means they had.

At the same time, the Gendarmerie specifies that, following the viewing of the operative images, the persons who violated the legal framework in force will be identified, and legal measures will be applied against them.

In Victoriei Square there are still a few hundred people who continue the protest, Agerpres informs.

The Gendarmerie also announced on Saturday that, when the protesters were in the University Square, a Polish citizen was spotted with a belt around his waist that had a knife attached to one of the ends.

The man is under judicial control, after he was caught by the gendarmes at the protest in Victoriei Square on February 10, carrying a knife and destroyed a metal panel of the Gendarmerie, as he was forbidden to participate in public gatherings.

Also in the University Square, the gendarmes detected several people with blunt objects made of wood or metal alloy, used as a support for flags.
