Deputy Prime Minister Ana Birchall met on Monday with Deputy PM for Reintegration of the Republic of Moldova Cristina Lesnic, context in which she reiterated Romania's firm commitment to go forward with the European journey of the Republic of Moldova, in agreement with the Strategic Partnership between the two states for the European integration of Chisinau.
According to a release of the Gov't, the Romanian Deputy PM highlighted the importance of continuing the democratic and profound economic reform process, and mobilising the efforts in the direction of implementing the provisions of the EU and the Republic of Moldova Association Agreement.
Deputy PM Birchall voiced interest for implementing the ongoing bilateral cooperation projects regarding the relation with the Republic of Moldova, with the goal of generating direct benefits for improving the Moldovan citizens' lives, the quoted source mentions.
Furthermore, the two dignitaries exchanged views on the developments related to the conflict settlement process in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova.
"Deputy PM Ana Birchall highlighted Romania's support for the comprehensive, peaceful and sustainable settlement of the conflict in the Transnistrian region, with the observance of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, within its internationally recognized borders," the press release mentions.
