Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development Paul Stanescu stated on Saturday in Bistrita that investments will account for 4.2 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), according to the budget draft for 2018, and Romania will witness an "economic boom."

"I give you a good news: in the budget of next year, from the recent discussions that I had, investments stand for 4.2 percent of the GDP, therefore, a very important amount. This year we have to admit that it was a little more hard, because, indeed, once with the Pay Law, wages have increases and it is an important amount, but I am convinced that in 2018 Romania will be in an economic boom. I am convinced of that and all the data confirms it," Stanescu stated.

The Deputy PM hopes for the European funds absorption to also increase next year.
