The disadvantaged youths can be hired for 24 months in local public institutions to acquire various skills, the Government decided in its first meeting in 2018.
"Local public institutions will be involved in the process of integrating disadvantaged young people into the labour market to help them gain experience, skills and abilities that can be later capitalised on in the private sector. Targeted are young people aged 16-26 who do not have a seniority of over 12 months, whether they are in or out of the child protection system or have at least one dependent child. Thus, 5% of the total number of posts specific to contractual staff in public institutions will be awarded exclusively to disadvantaged young people for a period of 24 months, provided they are vacant. At the end of the 24 months, the individual employment contract ceases and the post may be occupied by another person in a similar situation," the Government said in a press release for AGERPRES.
According to the source, this measure was initiated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Justice in the context in which the integration of disadvantaged young people into the labour market depends fundamentally on the existence of jobs appropriate to their needs.
"It is a about a programme whereby public sector jobs can be temporarily offered to disadvantaged young people to acquire 'transferable skills' into private sector jobs, a measure set out in the governmental programme at the ?Real chances for young people', says the Government.
