Dogan wins first medal for Romania at EYOF 2025, long jump bronze

Athlete Ana Maria Dogan on Tuesday won the first medal for Romania at the summer edition of the European Youth Olympic Festival -EYOF 2025 - in Skopje, North Macedonia, bronze in the women's long jump event.

Dogan won the medal for a 6.09 m jump, a personal best.

The gold medal went to Poland's Aleksandra Sochaka (6.13m), while the silver medal went to Finland's Ella Verna Josefine Wallin (6.12m).

For the European Youth Olympic Festival 2025, the summer edition, scheduled for July 20-26 in Skopje, North Macedonia, and Osijek, Croatia, Romania has lined up 87 athletes, 38 girls and 49 boys who will compete in 11 disciplines: athletics, badminton, 3x3 basketball, road cycling, mountain biking, artistic gymnastics, swimming, judo, taekwondo WT, table tennis and shooting.

At the previous EYOF edition summer sports, in 2023, in Maribor, Slovenia, Romania ranked fourth in the ranking by nations, with 20 medals, of which 9 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze.
