Yachtman Dorel Nacou, with the Romanian Nautical Club (CNR) has reached on Friday at 2:40 local time the final destination of the Mini-Transat 2017 La Boulangere competition, the Le Marin port in the La Martinique, as he was the last to arrive in the statutory margin of time and being considered the first Romanian navigator who has solitarily crossed the Atlantic Ocean.

His 412 iXblue Vamonos ship's mast cracked after the starting line in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, on 1 November, in the first night, at around 90 nautical miles from the starting point, during a storm.

"There followed five days of efforts in the Boujdour Port, Western Sahara (Morocco), where he could provisionally remedied the damage registered at the mast, through the efforts and mobilisation of his iXblue team and friends of the Romanian Nautical Club in Boujdour and Nouadhibou, Mauritania," says the CNR in a release sent on Friday to AGERPRES

Nacou took off again to crossing the Atlantic, navigating with prudence and a huge amount of temperance and patience. He touched the final destination port after 29 days, 11 hours and 32 minutes, while covering a total of 3,289 nautical miles.

Dorel Nacou has emigrated to France in 1992, when he was 20, and established in Marseille. He's a French and a Romanian citizen, as well.
