A truck loaded with 20 tons of goods from Belgium and declared in documents as second-hand products, such as agricultural machinery, tires or metal profiles, turned out to be waste, so the authorities did not allow the transport to enter the country, the Arad Border Police informed on Friday, informs Agerpres.
The truck, driven by a Romanian, was checked at the Nadlac II Border Crossing Point.
The authorities ordered that the goods be returned to the sender in Belgium.
More than 15 tons of waste and approximately 1.5 tons of used oil were made unavailable as part of an action in an integrated system, the spokesperson of the Gorj County Police Inspectorate (IPJ), Miruna Prejbeanu, reports on Friday.
Waste and used oil were discovered at several commercial companies in a number of communes in Gorj county, the source says.
In all cases, criminal files were drawn up in which investigations are carried out under the aspect of committing the crimes of not taking or not complying with the mandatory measures in carrying out the activities of collection, treatment, transport, valorization and disposal of hazardous waste and the disposal, possession, keeping of waste outside the authorized premises.
