On Tuesday morning, the commune of Puiesti, Vaslui County was shaken by an unusual event when fragments of a Russian drone fell on a household in the village center. Residents heard a loud noise, and authorities quickly cordoned off the area, inform Agerpres.

Mayor Vasile-Cezar Ticu confirmed that police, gendarmes, and representatives of the Ministry of National Defense were deployed to secure the site. The drone, a lightweight gasoline-powered device, landed in a tree about 100 meters from a house. While locals were initially panicked, calm was restored once it became clear there were no casualties. Authorities announced plans to organize information campaigns to prepare citizens for similar emergencies.

RO-ALERT messages warning of possible airspace drops were issued Tuesday morning in Tulcea, Galati, and Vrancea counties, and later confirmed to have reached southern Vaslui as well. Vaslui County Prefect Eduard Popica emphasized that proximity to the war zone has changed the way emergency situations are approached, noting: "We must all adapt to the new challenges, both authorities and citizens, who must be informed and know how to act."

The drone is being examined by specialists. Defense Minister Ionut Mosteanu stated he would have preferred it to be destroyed, but although two F-16 aircraft were scrambled, they did not fire. According to the minister, the drone fell either due to loss of control or fuel depletion: "It could have been shot down if all conditions were met... Well, they failed again. I wish they had shot it down."
