An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 on Richter scale occurred on Thursday evening, at 6:11 p.m., in Buzau County, Vrancea seismic zone, according to information published by the National Institute for Research and Development for Earth Physics (INCDFP).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 121.3 kilometers (km), near the following cities: 55 km northwest of Buzau, 60 km southeast of Sfantu-Gheorghe, 61 km west of Focsani, 64 km east of Brasov and 74 km northeast of Ploiesti.
Since the beginning of March, 8 earthquakes have occurred in Romania, with magnitudes ranging from 2 to 3.3.
The most significant earthquake in 2024, with a magnitude of 5.4, occurred in Buzau County on September 16.
