The Administration of the Environmental Fund (AFM) approved, on Thursday, 425 financing files, worth 6.51 million lei, submitted within the "Car Renewal" Program for individuals.
"By approving the over 420 eco-vouchers, we reconfirm our support for renewing the car fleet and reducing pollution. The 'Car Renewal' 2025 program means fewer old cars on the roads, more safety and a real step towards cleaner and more efficient transport. This is another reason why we have chosen to redirect a significant amount remaining available for cars with classic and hybrid engines, as the demand is obviously higher, but we also maintain support for electric vehicles. AFM remains consistent in offering balanced and responsible solutions for the mobility of the future, for the benefit of people and the environment", AFM President Florin Banica said in a press release sent to AGERPRES.
According to the cited source, within 60 days of obtaining the status of "approved beneficiary for financing", the applicant-individual is obliged to destroy and deregister the used vehicle from the traffic register, and subsequently upload the documents to the IT application and enter the date of deregistration of the used vehicle.
The AFM recently decided to redirect 45 million lei from the budget allocated to electric vehicles to the category of new vehicles with thermal propulsion systems (internal combustion, including LPG/CNG engines), motorcycles and vehicles with hybrid propulsion systems.
Applicants-individuals will be able to register in the IT application starting from Thursday, November 6, 10:00, until December 15, 2025, 23:59, or until the available funds are exhausted.
At the same time, registration for the purchase of electric vehicles remains available, within the limits of the new available budget.
