Minister of Economy Radu Miruta said on Thursday at the Cincu Training Range, on the occasion of Distinguished Visitors Day, that he considers any protest justified, but wants to have meaningful discussions, "not for a photo" and that he will not accept to be blackmailed by union leaders.
"I consider any protest justified. I do not operate that way. I do not meet with union representatives just so they can take photos and show their members that they came to the minister. They recently sent me messages. I met with them once. They asked to meet again. I was away on a delegation to Korea, afterwards to Saudi Arabia and they started telling me that if I do not meet when they want, they will protest. Well, the unions have to defend people's interests," Minister Radu Miruta said.
The Economy Minister underscored that he does not operate "under such blackmail."
"Yes, I know some of the problems. I am trying to solve the problems caused by others, but I don't work in the sense of 'let us negotiate, meet me today because I want to show a photo, because there are union elections, because I came to see the minister.' Let us see what the problems are, what the proposals are, how we can contribute to them. And yes, we move forward, but I do not operate under such blackmail," Minister Miruta added.
