A number of 97 companies have submitted projects to access the 150 million euros made available this year by the Ministry of Economy for the processing industry, said the relevant minister, Florin Spataru, told Agerpres.

"Thousands of jobs will be created, this being one of the eligibility conditions provided for in the state aid scheme for the manufacturing industry promoted by the Ministry of Economy. The call for applications for financing agreements for investments in the processing industry has ended today, a program to which 97 files were registered. State aid worth 300 million euros for 2022 and 2023 will be available to the processing industry to overcome the challenges of recent years due to the overlapping crises that have affected the national economy, but also the European one", said Spataru.

According to a press release, the Ministry of Economy carried out between November 1 and December 16, 2022, the stage of submitting applications for the financing agreement for investments intended for the said industry.

From the preliminary analysis already carried out at the level of the Ministry of Economy, during this session, state aid in the amount of over 600 million euros was requested, and 26 of the total applicants propose investments in disadvantaged areas, with CAEN CODE negative balance in the RO trade balance .

"Also, from the total number of registered applications, it is possible to create more than 8,000 jobs, which means that this state aid scheme is an effective tool for supporting the socio-economic context in Romania both by promoting Romanian industrial products, as well as by increasing the standard of living in underprivileged areas", says the press release.

Following the verification stage, the Ministry of Economy will send to the applicant companies, as the case may be: the agreement for financing or the draft agreement for financing, as the case may be; request for information and/or documents to complete the request for approval for financing; rejection letter of the request for agreement for financing.

The state aid scheme will be applied based on the financing agreements issued by the Ministry of Economy until December 31, 2023, and the payment of the state aid will be made between 2022 and 2027.
