Economic operators operating in the railway sector, registered in an electronic registry

The Government passed on Thursday a decision regulating the creation, administration and updating of a Registry of suppliers in the field of transport, in electronic format, managed by the Romanian Railway Authority (AFER).

The registry will include suppliers in the railway sector, metro, light metro, monorail and urban, suburban and regional rail transport, on industrial railway lines and on heritage, museum or tourist railways, informs a press release sent by the Government.

The measure is necessary in order to regulate and for better control of the authorization of economic operators that carry out their activity in the field, the Government explained.

"The suppliers' registry will include all supplier authorizations, technical agreements, technical approvals issued by AFER for economic operators in this field. It will be managed by AFER and will be accessible to economic operators in this field. Economic operators in this sector of activity will be entered in the Registry at the time of issuing the authorization," the cited source informs.

The registry will contain information regarding: identification data of the economic operator; general information about the economic operator;general information about the authorizations issued by AFER to economic operators in the railway field, metro, light metro, monorail and urban, suburban and regional rail transport, on industrial railway lines and on heritage, museum or tourist railways.

Economic operators in this sector of activity will be registered in the Register at the time of issuance, annual review, extension of validity, suspension or withdrawal of the authorization.
