Representatives of the Education Ministry have warned that all social networks must comply with the rules for the protection of minors in the online space, and any content that could result in harm to the physical or psychological safety of children must be filtered on these social networks.

"All social platforms must comply with the rules for the protection of minors in the online space. Any content that could result in harm to the physical or psychological safety of children must be filtered on these social networks. Online interaction must respect the legislation regarding children's rights, as long as it is accessible to minors," ministry representatives told AGERPRES.

These statements come in the context of an increasing number of children who have been admitted to "Grigore Alexandrescu" Hospital after being injured in a TikTok challenge this week.

The Education Ministry has recently signed a protocol with the Centre for Independent Journalism, aimed at carrying out activities on media education and online safety, which will involve both students and teachers.
