The minister of education, Ligia Deca, on Thursday said that the Ministry is preparing several legislative changes so that any complain, regardless of its form, anonymous or not, which refers to sexual harassment in the university environment will enter "fast" in the analysis circuit.
"I think we were all shaken by the testimonies of the victims of harassment in the university environment that appeared in the media recently. We have already discussed with colleagues from other ministries and public institutions and decided that we will work together with specialists from the Ministry of Justice, from other relevant ministries, from the National Authority for Equal Opportunities, and with the Rectors' Council, to create a legislative circuit, so that any complain can quickly enter the analysis circuit regardless of its form, anonymous or not anonymous.
And I'm talking about complains concerning criminal acts, for example harassment, which will be sent directly to the prosecutors and the Police, following the analysis carried out where the complain was first filed," explained Deca, at the beginning of the Government meeting.
She added that the harmonisation of legislation in this field for the entire public system will also be considered.
