The National Education Ministry (MEN) will benefit from a positive budget revision this month, and the budget bill for 2018 will be the biggest of the past 10 years, Minister Liviu Marian Pop stated on Friday in Baia Mare, within a working meeting with principals of pre-university education units of Maramures county.
"This month we will have a positive budget revision, will will pay the money stipulated by sentences, including the corresponding interests, there are no problems with paying wages, and the draft budget for next year will be the biggest of the past 10 years," Education Minister stated, according to a release of the MEN sent to AGERPRES.
According to the release, the minister also informed the participants, including Prefect Vasile Moldovan and Mayor of Baia Mare Catalin Chiriches who attended the meeting, that an important concern of MEN is amending the legislation regarding the funding, so that funds for personnel expenditures be sent from the ministry to the education units through county school inspectorates/ Bucharest School Inspectorate (ISMB).
At the same time, the release shows that the launching of the project called "Relevant curriculum, education open for all" (CRED) was announced, under which 55,000 teachers (15,000 primary education and 40,000 secondary education) will be provided with curricular training for a methodological approach which focuses on key-competency, in agreement with the new curriculum.
The working meeting of the Education minister with several principals of Maramures county was also attended by representatives of the county's trade unions in education, students' and parents' associations, as well as members of the university branches leadership of the city.
The working meetings of Maramures county will continue on Saturday, 11 November, in Sighetu Marmatiei, where Minister Liviu Pop will talk with principals of Sighet, Viseu and Borsa areas.
