National Education Minister Valentin Popa discussed on Friday over the phone with Hungarian Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Szijjarto, at his request, occasion on which the Hungarian official informed the Romanian dignitary about the result of the latest meeting between the representatives of Hungary and Ukraine on the sidelines of implementing the article 7 of Ukraine's Education Law.
On this occasion, the Romanian Education Minister informed Hungary's Foreign Affairs Minister in respect to the Romanian authorities' commitment to continue the sustained dialogue with the Ukrainian part for identifying the best solutions, in order to ensure the education in the Romanian language in Ukraine, according to the international obligations assumed by this state, a release of the National Education Ministry (MEN) sent to Agerpres, Hungary's Foreign Affaors Minister, reveals.
According to the MEN release, Minister Valentin Popa highlighted the Romanian side's expectations, namely a constant, concrete and substance dialogue of the authorities in Kiev with the Romanian minority throughout the process of implementing the provisions of the article 7 and any other legal measures that are likely affect the right to ethnic, linguistic, cultural and religious identity.
