The regulation committee of the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE) has approved in its Tuesday sitting the specific rates for the electric power distribution' service and the price for reactive electricity at the concessionary distribution operators for 2018, they being on average down by 1.08pct against 2017.

"The concessionary distribution operators have asked for 2018 an average increase of the distribution rates by 9.78pct as compared to the tariffs approved for 2017. As a result of the ANRE's analysis, based on the data sent by the concessionary distribution operators and the calculation of the regulated incomes, and considering the annual corrections in accordance with the regulatory framework in force, the rates approved for 2018 as compared to 2017 record an average decrease of 1.08pct at the level of the whole country, for all of the eight concessionary distribution operators," the ANRE release says.

As of 1 January 2018, the energy market will be fully liberalised, and the population which until now was enjoying a regulated regime will receive energy at the prices the bids on the PCSU (Centralised Market for Universal Service) close.
