The Energy Ministry has launched the platform https://aprindemlumina.gov.ro/, which provides access to important information about energy companies having the state as sole or majority shareholder.
"Today we launched the platform https://aprindemlumina.gov.ro/, which offers everyone access to important information about energy companies having the state as the sole or majority shareholder. Only through transparency can we maintain or regain the trust of Romanians in institutions. This is also one of the reasons why yesterday I presented to you the expense-cutting decisions taken at the level of the Energy Ministry. The Romanians can now see the organizational structure, who the administrators and managers of these companies are, including their CVs, they can look at the financial statements, income and expense budgets, investments and ongoing strategic projects. Data such as performance indicators, employee assessment criteria, but also bonus and premium policies, including those granted in 2024, are now publicly available," Energy Minister Sebastian Burduja wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
He explained that the initiative envisages two aspects: the common citizen's access to essential information, and countering disinformation campaigns about state-owned companies.
"Although public, this data was not available in a centralized manner, and accessing it required a considerable search effort. Through this platform we come forward to every Romanian, because people have the right to know how the country's strategic assets are managed. A lot of untruths have been circulated in recent months about the results of these companies, with the clear aim of inducing the idea that Romania is a weak state, lacking assets, and which has to rely on the resources of other actors, experts in energy blackmail. We are not and will not be a weak state, as long as we have the courage to do what is right. Transparency is a principle that must guide the activity of every official and every institution. I have applied this principle throughout my public activity and I firmly believe that this is the correct way to act - by being close to Romanians, by communicating openly and making information available to Romanians," Burduja emphasized.
