Clean energy trader and aggregator Ker Toki Power Romania plans to develop its own stand-alone battery storage facilities over the next 3 - 5 years, with an estimated total capacity of 300 - 600 MWh.
The company began its Romanian operations by commercially managing renewable energy assets for other owners. Within months, its portfolio reached about 200 MW of installed capacity, with production for 2026 estimated at roughly 500 GWh.
"This year we expect a turnover of at least 60 million RON, potentially double depending on energy prices and the commissioning stage of a stand-alone battery under development. In the medium term, over the next five years, we aim for an annual turnover 10 - 20 times higher," said general manager Aurel Mindrican.
Part of the Renalfa Solarpro Group, Ker Toki Power Romania plans to invest in new renewable production and storage projects, while expanding its operating services for third-party energy parks.
"Our priority is the commercial operation and performance optimisation of production and storage assets for our partners and for the Renalfa Solarpro Group. Romania is one of the group's key markets, interconnected with Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia, where we are already active," Mindrican noted.
The company is strengthening its presence on the wholesale energy market by optimizing energy flows and leveraging asset flexibility. It is also exploring the system services market through the operation of its own and partners' storage batteries.
"We do not rule out expanding into end-customer supply within five years, depending on market developments," Mindrican added.
In Romania, Renalfa Solarpro is assessing investments in hybrid solar-plus-storage parks to support grid stability and renewable integration. Regionally, the group aims to develop 1,000 - 1,200 MW of renewable capacity and up to 2,000 MWh of stand-alone storage over the next five years.
Ker Toki Power Romania, licensed by the National Energy Regulatory Authority, operates as an electricity supplier, optimizer, aggregator and trader. Together with its holding company, it provides energy services in Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Hungary and Romania, serving over 1,000 independent producers and more than 4,000 SMEs and large industrial consumers.
