President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani reiterated on Tuesday, within a joint press conference with Romania's Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, the support of the European Parliament for the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU, mentioning, at the same time, that the institution counts on the support of the Romanian Presidency for completing several important files.
"First of all, I want to underscore the support of the European Parliament for Romania's Presidency [of the EU Council] and, just as I had the opportunity to tell you within our bilateral meetings, hard work is needed in view of reaching a solution in respect to the migration package. The Dublin Reform is a priority of the European Parliament, that wishes very much to reach an agreement with the member states in respect to the migration package. We need to do more, the solution lays in the hands of the Council and this is why we are trying to collaborate as much as possible with Romania's Presidency," Antonio Tajani stated.
Among the important events scheduled to take place in the next six months, EP President Tajani also mentioned Brexit, the elections to the European Parliament, as well as the negotiation of the Multiannual Financial Framework.
