The launch of the open-end investment fund ETF BET BRK simplifies investments, increases market liquidity and can contribute sustainably to an increase in traded volumes on the Stock Exchange, said Adrian Danciu, CEO of SAI Broker, on Friday, at the launch event of a new ETF on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

"Through BKBETETF, this is the symbol under which this fund will be traded, investors benefit from immediate diversification and thus, through a single transaction, these investors can build an entire portfolio of financial instruments, shares, with exposure to the most important Romanian companies traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. The launch of BKBETETF simplifies investments, increases market liquidity and at the same time improves price formation and we hope to contribute sustainably to an increase in liquidity and an increase in traded volumes on the Stock Exchange. We created this product with investors' investment needs and objectives in mind, first and foremost. We want to offer a simple, transparent and cost-effective financial instrument so that investors can benefit from exposure to the growth of the national economy through exposure to the main sectors of activity of the issuers found in the BET index basket," said Adrian Danciu.

According to an investor guide prepared by the BVB, Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) are open-end investment funds that track the performance of an underlying asset through a transparent investment policy, pre-established in the prospectus. ETFs are similar to mutual funds, both offering investors the opportunity to invest in diversified portfolio structures.

Adrian Danciu mentioned that the figures for the last 20 years show a global increase from 2.7 trillion US dollars to 14.6 trillion dollars, the assets found in ETF investment funds, and the projections until the end of 2019 are even more optimistic with a compound annual growth of approximately 18%. So it is estimated that in 2019 the total assets at the global level will reach the level of 26 trillion dollars.

The Bucharest Stock Exchange and SAI Broker, a Romanian investment management company, part of BRK Financial Group, organized on Friday, May 16, the launch event of a new ETF at BVB, which tracks the performance of the stock exchange's main index, the BET index. The BET BRK Open-Ended Investment Fund ETF will be traded under the stock symbol BKBETETF.
